The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Abdullahi Adamu Candido has said the rehabilitation of Gbagalape road, which is in a deplorable state is not the responsibility of the area council.
Residents of Gbagalape, a border community between Abuja and Nasarawa state, could be cut off entirely should the road that links the community from Nyanya cave in to the ever expanding gully.
Candido, who made this known recently, said his administration is ready to address the plight of the residents of the council. He added that the council would have wanted to collaborate with the FCT Administration in constructing the Gbagalape road.
“Gbagalape rest squarely on the authorities of FCT and we can partner and facilitate the project but we don’t have the capacity,” he said.
He however said the council is doing all it can within its limits in ensuring that the residents get the dividends of democracy.
“I don’t shy away from responsibility what is for AMAC is for AMAC what is not for AMAC is for other institutions,” he said.
