Construction industry facing uncertainty, say quantity surveyors

Worried by the downturn in economic development and frequent cases of collapsed buildings, experts and stakeholders in the construction industry are set to proffer solutions to the current challenges facing the industry.

The stakeholders would converge on Benin, the Edo State capital, under the auspices of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) to discuss ‘Managing Construction Projects in Turbulent Times’.

The president of NIQS, Olayemi Shonubi, told newsmen in Lagos that the construction industry faces numerous challenges bordering on forex shortage and the devaluation of the local currency.
