Scores of motorists and commuters were Friday held in a gridlock along the Abuja-Keffi-Makurdi highway due to the ongoing rehabilitation work on the road.
Some of the travellers, who were trapped in the gridlock for over seven hours, urged the federal government to as a matter of urgency speed up pace of work to ensure early completion.

A commuter, Mr John Peter, who lamented the situation, said the development has affected his business trip to Enugu.
“I have been here since morning till this afternoon and I still don’t believe that this traffic jam will end soon,” he said.
Our correspondent observed some of the commuters trekking long distances following the gridlock just as motorcyclists made brisk business picking stranded passengers to manoeuvre through the gridlock.
