State governors yesterday met in Abuja to discuss critical issues of national importance, including the issue of constitution amendment and stamp duty.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, was billed to brief the governors on how far the parliament has gone on the issue of constitutional amendment.
Kalu had disclosed that the House received 40 bills regarding the review and amendment of the nation’s constitution.
Kalu, the Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, added that the House was considering the December 2025 deadline to complete the amendment.

The agenda of the meeting sighted by our correspondent last night showed that the meeting which was in progress at press time, was also discussing the Africa Investment Forum (AIF).
The minister of education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, was also expected to brief the governors on the state of affairs in his ministry.
