The ABG Group, a consortium of investors in the various sectors of the economy, has said that plans have been concluded to scale-up small holder farmers access to modern farming machines in the country.
Chairman of the group, Dr. Bawa Garba stated this when he led a delegation to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh in Abuja.
Alhaji Garba told the minister that the consortium of teams made up of various agricultural experts have agreed to set up a one-stop shop in most parts of the North where farmers can have fertilizer, tractors and other services.
According to him, the consortium in conjunction with foreign partners was going to establish a plant for between 15,000 and 20,000 three-wheel tri-cycles for farmers to convey their farm produce easily.
The minister told the team to design machines that have optimum results bearing in mind the weather and topography of the country.
