Mrs Wasira Suleiman, the 20-year-old mother who was brought to DASH at about 2:00am, was delivered of a baby boy at about 3:00am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, through caesarean section.

The source added that a relative of the whom was earlier entrusted to take care of the baby and his mother allegedly introduced another caregiver to take care of the baby, but in the process the woman took the baby away and never came back.

“The earlier woman introduced to take care of, Mrs. Suleiman whom baby boy was stolen told the mother of the baby that she wanted to bath the baby outside the ward and from there she disappeared to yet to be confirmed destination,” the source narrated.

Another relative of the mother who pleaded for anonymity told our correspondent that the relative who was taken care of the patient brought unknown caregiver to them and handed over the baby to her and before they knew what happened, the suspected ritualist had left.

“We have never set our eyes on this woman who disappeared with our sister’s baby. What is this world turning into? How could a woman be so heartless and without the fear of God barge into the hospital and decieve all the females ward attendants mounted at the gate of post antenatal ward on the pretense that she wanted to bath the baby outside the ward and went away with the baby? Human beings are wicked,” she lamented.

Narrating her ordeal in an interview with journalists, mother of the missing child appealed to the government, the management of DASH and security agencies to ensure the rescue of her baby unhurt.

Suleiman, who could not control her tears, said she did not know that the woman that was brought to take care of her baby had evil intention.

Her words, “The woman was brought to me to take care of me and my baby. I wonder how the same woman will steal my baby who was in my womb for nine months.”
