Communities from Jos North and Jos South local government areas of Plateau State have been urged to apply strategic and deliberate dispute resolution technique in order to check the recurring conflict in Jos city, as well as other parts of the state.
The communities who were urged to pursue this workable peace cause were participants at the Zaman Tare (Living Together) training which held at the Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace (DREP) Centre in Jos.
The programme was tagged ‘Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mechanisms Training.
The training concept is to ensure that people don’t resort to violence in every dispute disagreement.
Speaking at the four days’ programme, one of the resource persons, Olutoyin Falade, in an effort to resolve conflict, said it was imperative to understand the real issues at stake.
One of the participants, Rev Emmanuel Audu, said the training was very enriching and that it has opened his horizon more in the area of living together in peace and harmony.
