Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Monday urged the ENDSARS protesters to continue to conduct themselves peacefully.
Ortom made the remark when he received the protesters at the entrance of the Government House in Makurdi.

The ENDSARS protesters had earlier in the day continued in peaceful protest which began on Saturday as they thronged the Benue seat of power in their hundreds chanting solidarity songs in demands of good governance and security.
The governor however told them that he was in support of their agitations and would stand by them as always in the quest for a better country.
“You have done well in coming out for this protest and there is no crime in what you are doing because as youth, you have more stake in this country.
“I support you in this protest. I have always stood for this (their demands) and never hide my voice on issues of bad governance, insecurity and unemployment. There must be a shift from what we are doing in this country,” he posited.
Ortom however assured the protesters that something would be done about their demands, adding that the Governors’ forum had met on Sunday and recommended to the presidency what ought to be done so that the protesters will leave the street.
