Comptroller of Custom Cup debut excites carnival festival

Indications that the Comptroller of Customs Cup is expected to join the list of top prizes to be contested for at the ongoing 2023 Abuja Carnival Polo Tournament which galloped off with fanfare yesterday at the serene Guards Polo Resort in the Centre of Unity.

Already, the Nigerian polo family is excited that the introduction of the news trophy will ultimately provide the launch pad for the awaited return to national limelight of the Nigerian Customs polo team that has been in doldrums for some decades now.

Top official of the high profile polo club who disclosed this exclusively, confirmed that discussions were ongoing as at the time of filing this report that the Custom Cup would be the latest prize to be contested for during the prestigious Carnival Polo fiesta that has already attracted entries from all the major polo centers across the country.

The march of delusion

Apart from the expected debut of the Customs polo prize, participation teams would battle for top honours in other cups categories like the President Cup which remains the biggest prize at stake.

Others are the Legislative Shield, FCT Minister’s Cup and Guards Challenge Trophy, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Cup. And a handful of subsidiary laurels to be won.
