Commuters and residents have welcomed the repair works that have commenced on the dilapidated Kaduna Western Bypass.

Our correspondent reports that all the damaged and failed portions of the road from Mando Roundabout to the new panteka market now wear new looks as they have all been repaired.

Most of the road users who spoke with our correspondent commended the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) for the quality of work.

Alhaji Samaila Mustapha, a driver who plies the road daily, expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government and FERMA for their timely intervention.

Alhaji Mustapha said, “My prayer is that the government and FERMA can complete the whole road from Mando to the Abuja junction.”

A cross section of spare parts dealers at the new panteka market described the ongoing rehabilitation as a welcome development.

A trader at the market, Ahamedu Onyedika, commended the state and federal governments for the intervention, saying with the ongoing repairs, their customers would no longer fear to come to the market, adding that with the quality of work, motorists plying the road daily would no longer visit their mechanics weekly.

The Zonal Director of FERMA (North West Zone 1), Engr Rasak Kolawole Olaniyi, commended the level of work carried out by the Federal Roads Maintenance Engineer (FRME), Kaduna Field Office, Atiku Abubakar Sadiq, and his team on all the federal roads within their purview and particularly the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway considering the critical situation of the road before the intervention.
