The residents said lack of a PHC in their community has been of serious concern to them as they go to as far as Burum or Kabusa to access healthcare services.
With bad road, accessing health services at night used to be difficult for residents, Aso Chronicle gathered.
A resident, Peter Yohana, speaking in Pidgin English, said: “We live for bush. Before we go reach town, the person that wants to see doctor, if God no help him, go die.”
The situation is similar to what is obtainable in Chorin-Basa 2, where residents complained that the community has no PHC.
A resident, Jika Tanko, said members of the community in need of medical attention must travel to distant places to get help, adding that the most affected were the pregnant women and children.
He said some residents have resorted to getting help in traditional medicine.
Investigations, however, revealed that some residents rely on chemist shops for their medical needs.
“We used to buy medicine from chemist since it is difficult for us to go to hospitals and not everybody can afford to pay for the money,” Tanko said, calling on the relevant authorities to situate a PHC in the community.
