The people of Sardauna Local Government Area in Taraba state have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his interest in executing the 3050 megawatts Mambilla Hydropower project in the area.
Chief of Mambilla, Dr Shehu Audu Baju in his palace in Gembu, assured that he would provide an enabling environment for the effective take-off of the project.

Baju who received members of the sensitization committee on the project said his subjects were anxious to witness the execution of the dam.
He said the project has been on the drawing board for many decades, noting that playing host to the multibillion naira project was a thing of joy because of the numerous benefits his people stand to gain during and after the construction of the dam.
He also said Mambilla Traditional Council would ensure a very hospitable working atmosphere for the Chinese contractors throughout the period of the project.
Leader of the committee, and Taraba Commissioner of Power, Dr Garba Badina, said they were there to announce the sensitization campaign.
Dr Badina, solicited the cooperation of the monarch and his subjects to enable the committee to succeed in carrying out the sensitization exercise.
