The National Commission for Persons With Disabilities Thursday unveiled a five-year strategic plan and revalidation process to integrate Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) into the society.
The executive secretary of the commission, David Lalu, said the was expected to align with the strategic interest of the government to improve the living condition of PWDs.

While lamenting that PWDs were still at the receiving end of social and societal discrimination, Lalu said the rate of crimes perpetrated against PWDs was worrisome as they were not given the necessary support by their communities.
He said the commission remained steadfast to bringing those people to realize that PWDs now have benefactors in the commission.
Earlier, the consultant and presenter of the plan, Dr Toyin Aderemi, described the strategic plan as an operational instrument for the commission to implement the provisions of the Discriminations against Persons Living with Disability Act.
