Commission to donate food items to 200 IDPs in Yobe

The National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRFMI), in collaboration with Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, has donated food items to 200 internally displaced persons in Yobe State.

Flagging off the distribution in Damaturu, the Federal Commissioner, NCRFMI, Senator Bashir Garba Mohammed, said the donation was meant to alleviate the suffering of the beneficiaries.

The items donated consisted of 200 bags of 50kg rice, 100 bags of 100kg each of beans, maize and millet and 152 bags of Semovita.

Others were 42 cartons of groundnut oil, 61 jerrycans of palm oil and 52 cartons of maggi.

The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Mohammed Goje, thanked the commission and  urged it to include Yobe in the next phase of its housing project.
