Instagram skit maker and activist, Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has received death threats after speaking against the reopening of the Lekki tollgate.

Everyday, motorists pay a certain toll to gain entrance or exit at the tollgate.

The tollgate was shut down following October 20 shooting at #EndSARS protesters by soldiers.

The Lagos State Government recently announced that it would reopen the tollgate on 1st of April 2022 (today).

The announcement generated a lot of reactions.

Mr Macaroni, who has been an active #EndSARS activist, also spok against the reopening of the toll gate.

On Thursday evening, he took to his Twitter page to reveal that he was getting death threats over his involvement.

The comedian shared a screenshot of one of the threat messages which read, “This Macaroni of guy will most likely end his life untimely because of foolishness……. Very senseless unpatriotic bastard…..what’s his business with Lekki Toll Gate..I pray I get hold of him tomorrow at the Toll Gate I will kIll him on sight..”

He reacted to the message satirically, stating that he loved the Nigerian police and Lagos State.

He said, “This is one of many threats I receive regularly. Nigerian Police and Lagos state Government… I love you, and I know you love me too.”
