The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Gida Mustapha, has urged voters in Adamawa state to come out and exercise their franchise which can only be done every four years.
Mustapha, who fielded questions from journalists after casting his votes at 11:08am, hailed the voting process.
Commenting on the turnout of voters, he said, “I believe the turnout will increase within the next couple of hours. You know the typical Nigerian attitude.
“We studied the system the last time and knew that it was seamless. It flows very well. So, everybody is doing one thing or the other in their various houses. They will soon begin to come out.
“There will be increase in turnout as minutes and hours roll by. So, by and large, we will have an impressive turnout.
“My call on the people, wherever you are in your different home, doing one thing or the other, realise that this is a national duty. It is a Civic duty that is conferred on you by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“At every four years, you have an opportunity to determine and decide who will lead you. So, it’s not a responsibility that should be taken lightly. There is no reason why anybody should fail to come out and cast vote.”
On the electoral process, SGF said ,”It just took me barely two to three minutes to do the accreditation and voting process. The process is running very well.”
He expressed optimism of success at the poll, adding “obviously, we are winning.”
