Cocaine and other hard drugs now flood Bauchi State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said.
Commandant of the agency in Bauchi state, Segun Oke who disclosed this Thursday in Bauchi during the official launching of war against drug abuse said NDLEA had identified many black spots where cocaine is sold and taken.
“We are still investigating how they smuggle the cocaine into the state’’, Oke said.
The NDLEA commandant said many had been arrested with hard drugs in the cause of operations in the state.
In his remark, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed described drug abuse as one of the main causes of insecurity and social vices in the society.
“Anybody involved in drugs, the next tendency is for such person to commit evil act and that’s why we are having insecurity today in our society’’, Mohammed said.
The governor who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security matters, Retired General Marcus Yake, expressed his administration’s resolve to support NDLEA to succeed in the fight against the menace of drug abuse in the state.
