The coach of Malumfashi FC, Rabi’u Tata, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players despite the failure of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side to gain promotion to the Nigerian topflight.
With two matches to the end of the current season, Doma United of Gombe have since picked the sole group ticket to feature in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, Tata said in view of the fact that he took over the team three months to the start of the season, he is not disappointed with Malumfashi’s outings in the NNL.
He said “I was appointed when we had like three months to the start of the season. So, there wasn’t enough time for me to beef up the squad.
“I had to work with most of the players I met on the ground so I am satisfied with what we have done. The boys have done their best to put the team in a decent position.
“Personally, I am already looking beyond this season to the new one where I am confident we would do better and if possible gain promotion to the NPFL’” he said.
Coach Tata also commended the state government and the chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Dalibi, on their unflinching support to the club.
He said if such support is maintained next season, Malumfashi won’t struggle to reach the NPFL.
“We have enjoyed the unwavering support of the government, our chairman and other members of the management committee. They have been solidly behind us,” coach Tata reiterated.
