The acting technical adviser of Katsina United, Coach Bishir Sadauki, has said he is working hard to ensure that the ‘Changi boys’ finish among the top teams in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Only recently, the CAF ‘C’ licence holder was appointed to his present role after the management of Katsina United asked Coach Tony Bolus to step aside following acts of insubordination and unsatisfactory results.

In his first match in acting capacity, coach Sadauki led Katsina United to a 0-0 draw at Enugu Rangers.

Speaking to Daily Trust on Thursday, the coach who was full of praise for his players said Katsina United are motivated to not only maintain their NPFL status but finish the season strongly.

He said “The target for Katsina United is to finish the season among the top clubs. We don’t want to maintain our status in the league only but finish in a decent position.

“I see my appointment as an opportunity to market myself. I may be one of the best coaches around but I have to prove my worth for everyone to see.

“So, this is a golden opportunity which I am taking with both hands.”

Speaking on this weekend’s home fixture with Bayelsa United, Sadauki assured the teeming fans of Katsina United’s readiness to clinch the maximum points.

“We cannot underrate any team that is in the same league as us. Although Bayelsa United are below us on the league table, that is not enough reason for us to underrate them.

“They are a good side but we will do everything humanly possible to pick the maximum points against them,” he said.
