The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) and the Coalition of National Civil Society Organisations (CNCSOS) have raised the alarm over plans to truncate the cash withdrawal limit policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

The Secretary General of CNPP and National Convener CNCSOs, Chief Willy Ezugwu, and

National Secretary, Alhaji Ali Abacha, raised the alarm on Monday in Abuja at a media conference.

They said it was not the first time the CBN would be introducing cash withdrawal limits as the apex bank in 2013 introduced cash withdrawal limits.

Speaking on its implication on the 2023 general elections, the CSOs noted that the CBN governor had assured that the naira redesign and the cash withdrawal limits were not targeted at any individual but the reactions from some politicians who had plans to deploy stolen wealth for elections cry foul.
