Publicity Secretary of the association, Agbo Major, said in a statement yesterday in Abuja, that automatic tickets for 2011 elections negates the principle of fair play and indirectly makes Nigerians to believe that the feeling of the constituents is inconsequential.

Senate President, David Mark, on Thursday demanded on behalf of his colleagues that all serving senators of the Federal Republic who are members of the ruling PDP should be granted automatic tickets to stand for re-election in 2011.

He said that the request is undemocratic and is designed to breed violence, anarchy and chaos.

“Automatic tickets for these senators will create violence which has been the hallmark of our political process and which we, including Uwais, have worked relentlessly to curb, or could this be a grand design to create room for violence so as to be able to snatch ballot boxes and write results as has been perpetrated several times by the PDP”, he asked.
