Club owners excited over Rivers Utd Confed Cup Q’ final qualification

The Club Owners Association of Nigeria have expressed their delight over the qualification of Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent, Rivers United, to the quarter-final of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Nigerian champions drew 2-2 with Diables Noirs FC of Congo on Sunday to advance to the quarter-final stage of the league, which had secured Nigeria four berths in future CAF club competitions.

Club Owners Association of Nigeria, the umbrella body of top division clubs in Nigeria said the ticket secured by Rivers United FC was exemplary, historic and a source of excitement to the entire Football fraternity in the country.

The Association in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka commended the management, players, officials and fans of the club for the feat achieved, even as they described them as worthy ambassadors of the country.
