Adebayo, who was speaking in Kuje at the launch of a book entitled, Portraits of Christian Life written by Dr Favour Oluwaseyi, said reading of books was very important if every Christian must remain steadfast in Christian race, which he said exposes people to the right lifestyle as Christians.
“Portraits of Christian Life is a must read book for every Christian, particularly workers and believers who want to be good stewards before God,” he said.
The cleric, who commended the author of the book, had encouraged Christians to be committed to reading.
According to him, a good understanding of the words of God is crucial in the discharge of our duties as Christians.
In his remark, the author of the book, Oluwaseyi said the book was written to establish the characteristics of a Christian in contemporary life, adding that the Bible was clear about the lifestyle of Christians.
“Portraits of Christian Life explores different examples and illustrations used in the scriptures to describe a Christian, his lifestyle and how it applies to our lives in contemporary times
He added, “The Lord Jesus did not leave us in darkness as He used several analogies like light, sheep and steward to illustrate the life of a Christian.
“Also, Paul, by divine inspiration, used analogies like strangers, pilgrim, soldiers and ambassador to describe the lifestyle of a Christian,” he said.
The author called on Christians to be steadfast and acknowledge their role as the light of the word.
