The Network for Child protection, Council of Imam and Ulamas and the Ministry of Women Affairs in Kaduna state has been called upon to arrest a fish seller who is being accused of abusing a 7-years-old  Almajiri Boy in Kaduna.

A Kaduna base Pastor Yohanna Buru of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship, on Sunday further called on all Human Rights organization including UNICEF, Volunteer groups that fight against child exploitation in Africa, Children’s Rights Alliance and Network of Civil Society in the country to ensure that justice prevails.

He lamented that the fish seller caused serious health challenges to the young boy that was turned into a sex machine by an elderly man.

He said,  "There is need to immensely fight for the  justice of the young boy  that was reported to have been molested severally by rapist. He turned the boy into his sex machine, and recent report indicate that the culprit has continued his business of fish selling without any hindrances by the authority."

Pastor Buru said, “I was expecting to see many Human Right and Religious leaders with influence to show concerned over the health status of the young boy most especially the challenges he passed through when excreting, and other challenges he is facing since the incident but the reverse is the case.

"One of  responsibility of ministry of women affairs is promoting a multi-sectoral programme synergy for their realisation and enhancement of the survival, development, protection and participation rights of children
in Nigeria with particular to the achievement of set targets enumerated in the Child’s Rights Act (CRA), 2003."

Buru however called on Council of Imam and Ulamas in the country to begin sensitising Almajirai school teachers on the dangers of sending children for begging to different areas  in search of their daily meals.

Meanwhile, Mallam Gambo Abdullahi Barnawa who accompanied pastor Buru to see the young Almajiri boy urged state government to order for the arrest of the fish seller.
