Cleric encourages able bodied persons to embrace farming

The Chief Imam of Commercial Secondary School Jumma’at Mosque, Dutse, Aminu Baba Waziri, has called on all able bodied persons to go back land as Islam enjoined Muslims not to leave any fertile land uncultivated.

The Chief Imam, made this known in his Friday sermon, saying Prophet Muhammad, had enjoined Muslims not to leave any fertile land uncultivated.

He said it was based on this that he was calling on all able bodied to go back to land.

He said this would help in achieving food security and curb unemployment.

“Farmers, reap the benefit from any crop they planted because at harvest both human and animals feed from it.

“It is on this premise that Islam enjoined, the wealthy in the society to expand their farm lands, which in return creates employment.

“Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, said the most dignified is the one that helps.”
