Civil society organise football tourney to promote voters education

A civil society group on voters’ education, Atikulate Nigeria Network has put machinery into action to see Nigerian youths participate actively in politics through football.

The group on Sunday organised a football tournament in conjunction with DSG Sports Management at the Kabusa Community in Abuja.

According to the chief organiser, Mr Dennis Onwuka during the grand finale between Mshel and Zaar United, the football tournament was organised to bring youths together in the political process.

“This tournament was necessitated by the strong desire of the Network in harnessing the potentials of young people and making them put to good use their potentials in meaningful ventures like football,” he said.

His position was further collaborated by the Director General of Atikulate Nigeria Network, Mr Eichie Ehiagwina Micheal Mayor who reinstated youth involvement and really stressed on changing the narrative in Nigeria politics and the good use of PVC among the youth during the general elections.

“We are galvanising people into the ATIKULATE NIGERIA NETWORK nationwide from all wards and polling units of the 775 local government areas of the Federation.

He also stated that 1NATION 7 aside football tournament will be organised soon and will be played nationwide in the 6 geopolitical zones with four teams to be registered from the 774 local government areas of the 36 states and the FCT. He said the winning team will smile home with N5m.
