Civil servant sues ex-directors, alleges intimidation

A civil servant at the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) department in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mrs Aisha Al-Amin, has sued two retired Deputy Directors of Finance and Account in the office over alleged intimidation and defamation of character.

The defendants are Messrs Ayeni Richard and Sani Muhammad were taken to Upper Area Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu.

Mrs Al-Amin, who also alleged victimisation, said she was accused of leaking classified documents to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Her lawyer, Danshitta Shittu, said the allegations were false.

 When contacted, Richard told Daily Trust that he and Muhammad (the second defendant) could not grant an interview to the media “because there are rules in the civil service, among which is an oath of secrecy.”
