Engineer Aishatu Aliyu Umar has been elected as the 16th National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE).
Speaking during her investiture in Abuja, she promised to take the institute to greater heights.
Engr. Aishatu said, “The continuing professional development of our members shall remain our principal focus. All our chapters shall be encouraged to organise not less than two professional trainings each year. We will encourage all our members to be attending courses and workshops organised by the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Association of Consulting Engineers (ACEN) in Nigeria.”
Aishatu hails from Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State. She studied Civil and Water Resources Engineering in the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid) and graduated in 1995.
She proceeded to the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, for a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from 2008-2011. She proceeded to the University of Jos (Unijos) where she studied Construction Management at Master`s level from 1996-1998. She is a fellow of (NSE).
She is currently the Chief Civil Engineer of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Abuja.
