Civil defence parades 8 vandals, 3 rapists in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command has paraded eight suspects, who vandalised railway slippers and rail line irons in Nasarawa State and beyond.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Muhammed Suraju Idris, said the suspects were arrested with vandalized rail line irons and railway slippers loaded in J5 vehicle with registration number QAP 405 XA at about 1:00hr in Aridi Ajega village in Lafia.

The suspects are: Sani Isa, 24, Moses Sakpa 23, Zakari Ayuba 22, Allanana Kabiru 19, Zakari Sabo 20, Idris Haruna 25, Salifu Ayuba 20 and Zakari Yusuf, all from from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government of the state.

In their confessional statement, they admitted vandalizing railway slippers in different locations in the State and beyond.

They added that they were able to split the rail line irons with the use of gas welding equipment.

Similarly, the command also paraded three suspected rapists, who allegedly defiled a 12-year-old girl in Bakin Rijiya Lafia East Development Area in Lafia.

He said two of the suspects, Umar Ali Aso, 35 and Abdullahi Ali 40 were arrested in Bakin Rijiya while Mustapha Jibrin 30 was arrested in Wa’akwa and each confessed to raping the girl.

The NSCDC spokesperson said they would be charged to court as soon as investigation is over.
