The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) yesterday presented a merit award (Print Media category) to Daily Trust Newspapers.
The award was presented during the fellowship conferment and annual dinner and award of the institute held in Lagos.
At the dinner and award ceremony, many corporate organizations and individuals were also honoured with Merit Awards.
Among them was the Director of Finance, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Alhaji Hamzat Balogun.

Daily Trust Newspaper, the flagship publication of the Media Trust Group which also owns Trust TV, Trust Radio, Aminiya and Digital Trust, was honoured in appreciation of its relentless effort in educating the taxpayers and government on tax matters.
The award was presented by a past President of the institute, Asiwaju Femi Jegede to the General Manager Southern, Mr Ademola Oladosu who represented the newspaper.
Other corporate honourees at the award to celebrate excellence across all spectra were MTN Nigeria, Arkleen Oil and Gas, University of Lagos, among others.
President and Chairman of CITN, Mr Samuel Agbeluyi said the awardees were selected for their outstanding contributions to the advocacy on tax matters.
The President said, “To our Fellowship inductees, I cannot, but congratulate you for accomplishing such a landmark achievement in your professional careers as Tax Professionals. As you are aware, the Institute takes this ritual seriously and only confers its highest class of membership to deserving and qualified members. Council of the CITN is indeed glad that you all have made individual strides to satisfy all requirements for the upgrade to Fellow.
“It is pertinent to restate to our distinguished would-be fellows that the expectations of Council from you are now broad-based. You are required to project the Institute positively through ethical conduct and by striving for excellence at all times.”
