A man was electrocuted while trimming an overgrown mango tree on a church premises on Monday.
Iortim Richard, the victim, died on the premises of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kontien area of Gboko South in Benue.

A witness narrated that the deceased had just returned from a bank where he was sent on an errand by the resident pastor of the church.
He was said to have been directed by church officials to trim a mango tree but while he was doing so from the top of the tree, his instrument contacted a high tension electricity wire.
“The man was immediately electrocuted and his remains hung on the tree,” the witness said.
It was learnt that the early intervention of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gboko ‘A’ Division, CSP Nerson Iorhemba, calmed the frayed nerves of angry youths.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, said she was yet to receive the report.
