A 52-year-old clergyman, Samson Ajayi, and Jamiyu Jejelaye, 36, on Monday appeared in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court for alleged misconduct.
They were said to have made Nifemi Ajayi, who claimed to be a virgin, fetch water in her palms and distribute to every member of the church.

The church is Erigorah Gospel Church, Anaye, and the incident happened in March 2021, prosecution counsel, Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court.
Olasunkanmi said the conduct turned to be detrimental to the victim’s physical and psychological wellbeing.
Olasunkanmi, also told the court that Jejelaye, did cause her physical and psychological trauma.
The prosecution said the offence is punishable under the provisions of Section 6(I) of the Ekiti Gender-Based Violence (Prohibition) Law 2019.
Counsel to the clergyman, O.J. Abiola, and Iyanu Obamuwagun, for Jejelaye, prayed the court to grant bail to their clients in the most liberal terms.
Magistrate Abdulhamid Lawal admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 each and two sureties each in like sum.
Lawal adjourned the matter until Sept. 15, for hearing. (NAN).
