The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has praised the Executive Chairman of Soba Local Government Area, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Shehu, for his donation of rice to their members during the Christmas season.
CAN Chairman in Soba, Pastor Nazaral Daniel John, expressed gratitude after receiving the gifts at the Dahiru Maigana Secretariat. He highlighted that Hon. Shehu is the first sitting chairman to make such a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of Christian faithful in less than three months in office.
While believing that there is hope for a brighter future under his inclusive governance, Pastor John prayed for Divine intervention to help the Executive Chairman succeed in his administration.
“On behalf of CAN Soba LGA, we wish to extend our appreciation for your kind Christmas gift. You put smiles on our faces. We say thank you, may Almighty God bless you. We’re proud of you being our leader,” said Pastor John.
Mr. Dauda Ibrahim Waziri, the coordinator of the APC Northern Christian Forum in Soba, also commended the Executive Chairman for proving that the ruling APC in Soba is free from religious bias.
He said the large-scale rice donation is unprecedented in the history of Soba Local Government, urging Christians to support and pray for the administration’s success to ensure more democratic benefits.
During the flag-off ceremony for the rice distribution, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Shehu, stated that the gesture aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s inclusivity and social welfare policies.
Represented by Vice Chairman Hon. Muhammad Garba Baban-baba, the Executive Chairman noted that over 500 bags of rice, each weighing 10kg, were distributed to Christian families to help them celebrate the Yuletide season.
Baban-baba called for the support of all stakeholders to achieve the administration’s goals for Soba Local Government.
