Former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima, said during his time as the governor of the state, Christians were better off in the state.
Senator Yarima, a presidential aspirant under the platform of the APC. disclosed this Tuesday during interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

Yarima said that when he declared for presidency recently in Abuja, the chairperson, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Zamfara was present at the event, saying that was a testimony of how well he treated Christians.
Yarima said, “During my time, if you check records, President Obasanjo declared in his government, that Zamfara State is a crime-free state. They said the crime rate in Zamfara at that time was 0.2 percent,” he said.
“Sharia means justice, equity and fairness. Ask the Christians in Zamfara, they’ll tell you that at that time, they were better off.
“Recently when I declared in Abuja, the chairperson, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Zamfara, was there. And he told Nigerians what kind of benefits the Christians had. There was social justice, and there was development.”
However, Yarima said that he has 15 million supporters so far, a data the Yarima Support Organization collected via social media.
