Chinese group donates hall to Lagos model college

The Chinese Youths Association (CYA), Lagos, has donated a 500-seater multi-purpose hall to the Lagos State Model College, Ojo.

The group donated the hall in honour of Assistant Commissioner of Police Akinbayo Olusoji, who is an old boy of the school.

At the official handing over and commissioning of the building last Saturday, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Olatokunboh Adeleye, expressed her belief that the donation was in tandem with the association’s vision of supporting schools in the spirit of corporate social responsibility.

She stressed that the CYA had chosen “a very important sector to touch and impact lives.”

She emphasized that the way to ensure quality, effective and functional education for children was to continue to create a conducive environment for learning and teaching and provide better infrastructure for them.
