Chinese accused of killing lover in Kano knows fate March 29

A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji has fixed March 29, 2023, to deliver judgment in the case involving Mr Frank Geng Quangrong, a Chinese, standing trial for culpable homicide.

Daily Trust recalls that on September 16, 2022, Mr Quangrang allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Ummulkusum Sani (Ummita), to death following a misunderstanding.

The court fixed the judgment date after both the prosecution and defence counsels presented and adopted their final written addresses.

The prosecution counsel called six witnesses to support the allegations of culpable homicide, relying on Section 221(b) of the Penal Code.

During his testimony, Quangrong denied intentionally killing Ummita, claiming that he stabbed her in self defence after she grabbed his testes and pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy in its judgment.
