Children’s Day: Five fun things to do for your kids

The International Children’s Day, marked every May 27, is a day set aside by the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to celebrate children and address their needs.

The day is dedidated to celebrating children, raising awareness of issues that affect them and helping nations appreciate the fact that they are the future.

Play their best song

Parents can decide to play their kids’ best songs, especially those  meant to inculcate moral lessons. This can be a song formed by the parents. Making it special can put smile on the lips of the kids throughout the day.

Parents can engage their children in a group reading of short stories. They can be allowed to choose a story book that entices them. Good narration by the parents can do. Audio stories have the ability to engage kids and leave memorable events in their minds.

A good way to celebrate this day is to allow kids to choose their meals. Kids need all the necessary nutrients in the right proportion.

Waching good movies is one of the many ways to enjoy Children’s Day. Cartoon has the power to make children smile and feel at home, too. Movies intended to teach lessons have additional qualities. Parents can watch TV this day with their kids to set a standard on what their children watch.

 

Take them out

A visit to a park, a supermarket or a zoo can be a good way to celebrate with the children. Often, spending some time at an eatery with kids make them feel special.

By taking them out, parents are indirectly easing the children’s boredom. They breathe fresh air which boosts their morale.
