Children”s Day: Emirates fetes Nigerian children

Emirates Airline at the weekend hosted Nigerian children to a feast and movie delight at the popular Ikeja Mall’s Silverbird Cinema in Lagos where the children enjoyed great moments with their parents.

The children, both boys and girls, were all kitted in the Emirates crew uniform, posing in photographs with the airline’s country manager, Afzal Parambil at different scenes of the programme.

The ecstatic children were seen playing around with some Emirates staff and their parents as they also dined and wined while the movie ‘Sherlock Gnomes’ lasted.

Apart from also treating their parents who went home with gifts, the children went away the Emirates Flywithme pack containing snacks, Paper art kit, Small things (Amazing World Series) books, among other things.

Speaking on the development, Parambil said it is the airline’s tradition to celebrate children whether onboard its flight or anywhere.

He said, “On behalf of Emirates, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our Children’s Day celebration. We can think of no better way to celebrate the special little travellers in our lives, than by bringing the joy of movies to life. Whether they are flying with family or alone, we ensure that Emirates’ Little Travellers have a memorable time flying with us, so that the journey is as enjoyable as your destination.

“Always a great hit with children and families is our award-winning ice Digital Widescreen which has over 3,000 channels including 50 Disney Classic movies, a dedicated Marvel channel which has movies like Ant Man, Marvel’s The Avengers and Iron Man. Additionally, we have 90 dedicated kids TV channels and around 100 video games for children. With specifically-dedicated channels for children on all flights, both youngsters and their parents can enjoy every minute of travel onboard.

“So, in the spirit of celebrating children – we hope you enjoy Sherlock Gnomes to mark the start of summer and commemorate our inflight experience for children”, he said.
