A Kano Upper Shari’a Court sitting at ‘Yan Alluna Fagge LGA has sentenced a man to three months imprisonment or an option of a fine of N50,000 for forgery.
The convict Auwal Abba was found guilty of printing a fake receipt of N50,000 as payment for his ex-wife for the feeding of his child.
When the state prosecutor, Barrister Zaharaddeen Mustapha, read the charges to him, he confessed to having gotten the receipt printed at a press located at Mandawari.

Khadi Nasir Abdullahi Muhammad also ordered that the convict be given 10 strokes of the cane.
