The Chief Richard Lamai Essay Contest, organised by Authors in School Creative Club, is set to close for submissions on December 10, 2020.
Submissions opened on November 1 for the competition which is open to secondary school students across Nigeria with the theme ‘If I were Governor for a year’. Entries in this category are expected not to be less than 450 words. Cash prize for the winner is N30,000 while the 1st and 2nd runners-up would grab N15,000 and N10,000 respectively.
The theme for this year’s contest for the National Level is ‘Youth Arise: Rediscovering the Nigeria of Our Dream’. The entries, according to the organisers, should not be more than 1000 words. The overall winner would go home with a cash prize of N50,000, and the first and second runners-up get N30,000 and N15,000 respectively.
Authors in School Creative Club is a subsidiary of Udukhotse Foundation aimed at nurturing and grooming students in the creative arts.
