Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Chidi Odinkalu, says the entire Nigeria would suffer if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) messes with the ongoing governorship election in Edo State.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Odinkalu explained that there is hardly anywhere you go in the country without passing through Edo.
He said, “If Mahmood Yakubu & @inecnigeria mess with #EdoDecides2024, all of #Nigeria will suffer it: there is hardly anywhere you can go in Nigeria without passing through Edo.”
Odinkalu had criticised the INEC chairman, prompting a response from the convener of the Civic Integrity Initiative (CII), Kamson Chidubem, who accused Odinkalu of “biased criticisms and media abuses.”

Daily Trust reports that Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, aka Davido, equally criticised the INEC over the ongoing election.
Davido described INEC as the “most dangerous institution in Nigeria.”
