The Borno State Police Command yesterday paraded 22 insurgents, including those said to have taken part in the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls of Chibok in 2014.
The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Damien Chukwu parading the suspects, said they included eight Boko Haram commanders.
He named them as Mayinta Modu, Adam Mustapha, Gujja Jidda, Mamman Wardi, Alhaji Modu Jidda, Ajiri Bulama Dungus, Mohammed Abba, Fannami Mustapha, all from Bama Local Government Area of the state.
One of the suspects, Mayinta Modu, 23, said he was given N60,000 for participating in the abduction of the Chibok girls.
When asked the whereabouts of the remaining girls, he said: “The remaining abducted Chibok girls are in Sambisa and Ba’na Chingori knows the place where they are, but we are not allowed to go there,” Modu said.
He also said that he had been involved in several attacks including in Niger republic, Cameroon, Mubi town in Adamawa State, Yale, Busari, Gulumba and several others.
Force Intelligence Response Team, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, disclosed that the operations was intelligence-driven, saying all the people troubling the three states would be brought to book.
