An FCT High Court in Gwagwalada, on Tuesday, ordered a 21-year-old student, Babatunde Samuel, to clean the premises of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for two weeks for internet fraud.
Samuel had pleaded guilty to a cheating charge filed by the commission and begged for leniency.

Delivering judgment, Justice Aliyu Shafa, ordered Samuel to clean the EFCC premises from 8am to 10am for two weeks while undergoing counselling with the commission’s legal department for one month.
Shafa also ordered the convict to enter a bond to be of good behaviour from June 21, 2022, to 21, June 21, 2024.
Shafa ordered that the items laptop, cell phone and other tools used to perpetrate the crime be burnt.
Earlier, EFCC’s counsel, Khalid Sanusi, told the court that Samuel alias Andy Wong through his Facebook some time in 2021 cheated by pretending to be a Chinese oil and gas engineer based in Italy.
Sanusi said Samuel tricked one Karen with intent to obtain $10,000. (NAN)
