One of the world’s biggest polo charities, the Access Bank UNICEF Charity Polo has concluded plans to build a 100-classroom complex to further deepen its intervention in the education of the less privileged and vulnerable children in the northern part of Nigeria.
Polo Royals authoritatively gathered that the new school complex which is the second in the series of projects geared toward supporting UNICEF campaign toward anti-poverty and anti-HIV/AIDS campaigns in Nigeria would be sited in the rural community in Kaduna State.

The first educational project of a 60-classroom school complex targeted at removing millions of out-of-school children from the streets was commissioned two months ago by the Wife of Kaduna State Governor and UNICEF Ambassador Hajia Ummi Nasir EL-Rufai during the 2022 Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield Polo Tournament in Maraban Jos, Kaduna.
According to the Group Managing Director of Access Corporation, Herbert Wigwe, the new school project would be funded by the $1.7 million donations raised by the bank, Fifth Chukker Polo & Country Resort at its 2022 edition of the Charity Polo Tournament held at The Guards Polo Club in Surrey, the United Kingdom on in July.
According to the bank boss, the funding will “Serve as building blocks towards achieving a brighter future for the country, while challenging the various state governments to take sustainable actions towards ensuring all boys and girls complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education.”
