Change of Guard at ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’

There has been a change at the helm of Operation Lafiya Dole, the Nigerian military’s counterinsurgency operation in the Northeast. According to a statement issued by Army Headquarters last week, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor, has been appointed Field Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force. Major General Irabor is being replaced by Major General I. Attahiru.

The new postings are part of an internal restructuring exercise being conducted by the Nigerian Army.
