Plateau United would kick-start their CAF Champions League debut against Edin Sport of Cameroun at Zaria Road Stadium in Jos today after it clinched the last season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) trophy.

The Head coach of the team Kennedy Boboye in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust in Jos yesterday said that the quadruple; Henlong (knee), Turba (hamstring), Osanga (ankle) and Pam (knee) would all miss the match against Edin Sport.

He said: “Henlong is part and parcel of the team, it is just that he is nursing an injury he sustained before we went to camp. He had a knock when we were playing a friendly match at Rwang Pam stadium.”

Boboye said that since then the former Giwa FC captain has been struggling with the knee injury, adding that he has however been responding to treatment.

The former Abia Warriors Technical Adviser said that Benjamin Turba sustained a hamstring injury when Plateau United played against Kano Pillars in Kano some weeks back.

“King Osanga sustained an ankle injury during our training last two days and Lazarus Pam is also down with a knee injury. All these four players wouldn’t play against Edin Sports of Cameroun.”

The former Sunshine gaffer, also urged Plateau United fans to be the 12th man during his club’s encounter with their Camerounian’s counterpart.

“I want our fans to come and support us the same way they do. Let them be patient, ours is to make them happy by winning and let them also pray for us to win massively,” he noted.

Boboye added that the Plateau United players – a goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye, defender, Daniel Itodo and winger, Peter Eneji that were part of Super Eagles’ team during the recently concluded 2018 CHAN Championship in Morocco have joined his team and would be in contention to play against Edin Sport.
