Chamber, council hold workshop on post-harvest mgt

According to a release by Usman Saulawa, Director General KADCCIMA, the Exhibition/Workshop which is a joint collaboration between the Chamber and Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Abuja will hold from 21st to 23rd October, 2014 at the Kaduna International Trade and Investment Centre, Rigachikun, Kaduna.
Saulawa said: “The event is aimed at complementing the efforts, policies and programmes of all tiers of governments.”
The event is expected to bring together all stakeholders in the post-harvest Management/Technology and the financial sector, to fast-track the development of post-harvest management & value chain financing and policy framework that will support the initiative.
Other objectives of the workshop include; to promote networking and collaboration among participants, to identify main causes of post-harvest losses in fruits and vegetables crops, to showcase post-harvest equipment, chemicals and technologies for combating post-harvest losses as well as to promote and sensitize Nigerian farmers, researchers, equipment fabricators and financial institutions on best   practices and technology that will lead to value chain financing.
