The Co-operative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN) has initiated plans to deliver services to its members through the Unified Co-operative Platform (UCP).
During a press briefing held in Abuja, yesterday, the Executive Secretary of the CFAN, Mr Emmanuel Atama, highlighted the major benefits of the platform, saying: “The innovation serves as a one-stop shop for all technology needs of cooperative societies.
“It solves issues of accountability, productivity, monitoring and reporting needs of every cooperative society. This will connect them to the apex body for the purpose of ascertaining their contributions to the overall growth of the economy.”
He said that the platform offered a robust co-operative banking platform in support of financial and banking services.
“With the Unified Cooperative Platform, you can seat in the comfort of your home with internet facility and write applications for loans,” Atama said.
“You don’t need to talk to anyone because the system qualifies you and once that is done, you will get your alert. It’s one way that things are done objectively.”
He, however, said that co-operators would begin to enjoy this platform in the next six months through www.cooplatform.com.ng.
The Business Director, Government, Computer Warehouse Group (CWG), Mr Udukheli Izebuno, said that the aim of the platform was to link cooperatives with the apex body (CFAN) without stress.
“Our partnership is that of technology and drive for total inclusion of all cooperatives,” he said.
The CFAN is partnering with the CWG Plc, the largest IT services company in Nigeria, to bring this to fruition
