Governor Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State said at the weekend that educational certificate is not necessarily a guarantee that elected office holders will perform as expected.
The governor, who stated this at the flagging off of a 37.5 kilometer road in Shelleng Local Government Area of the state, said the essence of leadership was service delivery to the people.
“Leadership does not depend on speaking English vocabularies, but by fulfilling the promises made to the people, especially the poor,” he said.
Bindow commended the working relationship between the executive and legislature in the state, saying he would continue to carry along the people at the grassroots who voted him into power.
“For those that feel I do not deserve this seat, they should question the Almighty for granting me the seat,” he also said.
