The Centre for Wounded Servicemen and Fallen Heroes Supports Fund (CFWS&FHSF), a non-governmental organization, has sought partnership with Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust and other titles, on reportage of wounded soldiers in Nigeria.
The centre’s Chief Operating Officer, Ezekiel Adi, during a courtesy visit to the company’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, described the contributions and sacrifices of wounded servicemen and fallen heroes as enormous.

“The morale of serving security personnel is to a very large extent determined by how the society sees the wounded and the fallen heroes’ colleagues being taken care of or neglected.
“Supporting these wounded servicemen and families of the Fallen Heroes requires government and societal support,” he said.
He said the centre had written to 13 military and para-military forces to get the data of wounded servicemen.
The Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust, Naziru Mikailu, represented by the General Editor, Hamza Idris, said the country must be secured before any other thing.
He said: “We have never pretended in reporting issues relating to security because we believe it is sacrosanct and we believe that we have a key role to play in giving voices to people who are willing to voice out advice and make a case like in your issue tailored towards the wounded soldiers. We are very passionate about them.
“Not quite up to a year, we had to do a lead story on ‘The Plight of Wounded Soldiers’. We visited a hospital in Maiduguri and a military hospital in Kaduna.
“We spoke with the wounded soldiers and their families and we reported it the way it was.
“On behalf of the management of Media Trust, I want to assure you that starting from today, we’ll partner and continue to partner with you.”
